Altrusa is an international volunteer service organization of members united in service, personal development and fellowship.  Working together, members volunteer their energies and expertise in a wide variety of community projects.  Many projects focus on literacy. "Altrusa" is derived from "Altr" an altruism, which is defined as the practice of unselfish concern for the welfare of others and from "USA" for the United States of America, Where Altrusa began in 1917.

Members of Altrusa unite their varied talents in service to others achieving as a group what individuals cannot do alone.

Members have opportunities to network with each other at monthly meetings, Area workshops, District conferences and International Conventions.

Altrusa offers a unique opportunity to make our community a better place to live.
